West Dundee has two-week snow plan
West Dundee’s snow removal isn’t over by a longshot and officials expect the entire process to take two weeks.
Snow plows used Thursday to continue clearing snow at the bus stops and main intersections in town. Tonight, they’ll hatch a plan to dispose of the high piles now obstructing motorists’ views. They’ll dump the extra snow in existing vacant lots, at the public works facility and at South End Park.
“We’ll be working the next two nights to knock those down,” Village Manager Joe Cavallaro said.
As the two weeks go on, the village will focus on removing snow from mailboxes and continue keeping residential and downtown streets clear. Although the river walks and bike paths are a lower priority, employees will tend to them as well, Cavallaro said.
“We fared pretty well,” Cavallaro said. “The nice thing about driving around was seeing the neighbors helping neighbors, blocks helping elderly residents — it was really just a continuation of what makes West Dundee such a special place.”
