Chicago expects more flights at O'Hare, Midway

The Chicago Department of Aviation says conditions at O'Hare and Midway International Airports are improving in the wake of this week's blizzard.

The department says several flights arrived Wednesday at O'Hare, and there were both some arrivals and departures at Midway. Department spokeswoman Karen Pride says airlines anticipate more expanded flight schedules to resume at both airports on Thursday.

Airlines canceled more than 2,200 flights in and out of O'Hare on Wednesday, as well as more than 400 flights in and out of Midway.

Snow removal crews continued to work on clearing runways and taxiways at both airports Wednesday night.
