Aurora begins plowing cul-de-sacs
Cul-de-sacs and downtown sidewalks will be the next areas plowed as Aurora’s blizzard response continues.
Crews will be revisiting major thoroughfares such as Galena Boulevard, Indian Trail Road, New York Street and Orchard Road to expand driving lanes Thursday and crews will begin clearing cul-de-sacs with special equipment, according to city spokesman Dan Ferrelli.
It may not be possible to plow snow to the curb on all residential streets, but crews will ensure enough is moved to allow mail delivery.
Downtown sidewalk snow removal is slated to begin Thursday evening and may cause some road closures beginning at 8 p.m. The city is asking residents to avoid downtown Aurora if possible.
Friday morning, crews will begin applying salt to roads as temperatures are expected to climb closer to the freezing mark.
