Excessive salaries still plague county
I'm writing about an article that appeared Jan. 14. I hope I'm not the only one questioning the amounts that Maria Pappas is paying two workers — Emanuel Hatzisavas, driver ($94,000), and Teresa Hawa, office cleaner (57,000).
I expect much more from Ms. Pappas as Cook County treasurer. How many more inflated salaries are we going to see if and when the county ethics board actually starts doing their job. Are we surprised Cook County can't pay its bills?
