102 cars stuck during storm in Aurora
Aurora police say they responded to 160 calls for service during the peak of the blizzard Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning, but none involved major emergencies.
Of those calls, 102 came from travelers whose vehicles got stuck in snow.
“Some of the motorists had to be rescued by officers who used the special response teams’ Bear Cat armored vehicle to transport them to a place of safety,” Aurora spokesman Dan Ferrelli said in a release.
Police also said they responded to 14 accidents, but none were serious. If vehicles remained drivable after an accident, officers did not respond.
Drivers in those minor accidents can go to Aurora police headquarters at 1200 E. Indian Trail Road when roads are clear to file an accident report.
