I have the determination and persistence to drive to a solution making sure all avenues have been exhausted. I have had responsibilities in my employment history leading teams to improve processes, safety, maintaining equipment, and problem solving. I served as the lead the negotiator of two contracts within our local union and worked with committees to drive solutions. My work ethic is honest, determined, and strong. Given the delicate balance between the need for revenue and over-taxing local businesses, what is your opinion of your community's present level of local sales taxes? Is the tax just right, too low or too high? Explain.In these difficult times I beleive that our local sales taxes are where they should be. What we need to do is to make sure our Village spending is kept in check and that cuts in spending are made where we can. Find ways to bring more business to Hainesville, so our revenues increase by growth , not by increasing sales tax.Talking with your friends and neighbors, what seems to be their biggest public safety concern? Explain the concern as you see it, and discuss how you think it should be addressed.Committee Policing has been the main topic. Changing from our own police force to the Grayslake Police was on everyone's mind. Response time and coverage was a main concern. Since the switch those concerns have been answered by the Grayslake Police doing and great job. Not allowing gangs and there activities, within the Village, is also a concern. Increased patrols and community involvement is needed to keep our village from gang activity. In these tight economic times, municipal budgets have to be prioritized. Where, if anywhere, could the current budget be trimmed, and conversely, are there areas the budget does not give enough money to?There are two areas that we could possibly pay less attention to, right now. First, would be the Community Events budget and also the Wetland and Beautification budget. Many community's have downsized or stopped community events entirely. Hainesville Fest could be put off till better times or find a way to pay for it through private contributions. Keeping our community scenic with public funds at these difficult times should also be visited. We do need to keep our community appealing to future business or homeowners but we can't take away from essential services budgets to fund this.What#146;s one good idea you have to better the community that no one is talking about yet?Establish a Community Policing Workshop, where residents can become informed, by our Police Department, on the police activities within the communitiy and what they can do to help prevent crime.
