Naperville Parks wins photo award at state conference

Each year, the Naperville Park District competes against park districts across the state in the Illinois Association of Park Districts/ Illinois Park and Recreation Association Agency Showcase, which takes place in Chicago at the annual parks conference during the last week of January. This year, Naperville brought home the Integrated Photography award, given for the cover of the Autumn 2010 Program Guide which features the Healing Field of Honor with the Millennium Carillon in the background.

Brian Guhl, the District's graphic designer, shot the winning photograph, which was composed to show the depth of the flags and field and the complementary focus of the Millennium Carillon.

“It's an honor to be recognized among so many excellent park districts in the state of Illinois,” said Sameera Luthman, Director of Marketing and Communications. “The photograph captured the strength and depth of the community as people came together to remember friends, loved ones, and neighbors who served our country.”

The annual Agency Showcase offers 12 award categories in the area of marketing and communications, including logo design, website, print advertisement, and more.
