Is the tax just right, too low or too high? Explain.Grayslake does not have a local sales tax. Only the Illinois State sales tax rate applies within the Village. Where, if anywhere, could the current budget be trimmed, and conversely, are there areas the budget does not give enough money to?Grayslake has a balanced budget and is debt free. The Village has been controlling costs and keeping their growth below the rate of inflation through out-sourcing, process improvements, public-private partnerships, government to government partnerships. Ensuring that these polices -- which have maintained Grayslake's strong financial position -- are maintained is my top priority.What#146;s one good idea you have to better the community that no one is talking about yet?Creativity and innovation should not be limited or focused on a single idea. Rather they are needed on a regular basis to assess legislation and policy as it is presented to the board. My diverse background allows me to apply this the differing challenges that come before the Village Board on a regular basis.
