Are there any cuts you would restore? If more cutbacks need to be made, what would your priorities be?I believe that the duty of any Village or city is to provide safety and security, conveniency and comforts, and make every citizen proud of being a citizen of such Village. I will study in detail, keeping above principals in mind and provide to citizen as much as possible.Should Oak Brook consider levying a property tax if sales tax revenues continue to be sluggish? No. The idea should be how to improve sales tax revenues. Time of economy downturn is the time of creation and innovation.Oak Brook's firefighters have been without a contract for more than two years. Before that, the police worked without a contract for an extended time. How would you approach negotiations with public employee unions? As I don't have full details yet( I am not incumbent) , I need to study ""why no contract more than 2 years"" for firefighters, how the police contract issue was resolved before making ""how to approach"".What is your opinion on privatization of city services to save money (for example, hiring more contract firefighters and dispatchers)?saving money is good but not always. First consideration should be what impacts it will create to city and citizen, how reliable and timely. Such as the exampled service : firefighters and dispatchers are not just money issue but involving life of citizens. So it should have a lot more thorough study than just money savings. What should the village do about rising pension costs?should approach with practical sense rather than emotionally, hopefully both side will be reasonable. Given economy today we need to look into how we could improve the pension situation. The pensioners should remember not to kill the golden egg laying goose.
