Is the tax just right, too low or too high? Explain.Just right, however, there must be continued efforts to increase the retail tax base within the Village.Talking with your friends and neighbors, what seems to be their biggest public safety concern? Explain the concern as you see it, and discuss how you think it should be addressed.Vacant properties and over-all security. Fortunately, crime is not a major ongoing concern due to the renewed contract with the Lake County Sheriff's Department for police services throughout the Village and additional 24-hour a day public service provided residents of Lake Barrington Shores by Securitas, Inc.In these tight economic times, municipal budgets have to be prioritized. Where, if anywhere, could the current budget be trimmed, and conversely, are there areas the budget does not give enough money to?The Village Board and Staff have done an outstanding job maintaining all necessary services despite current tough economic times while trimming costs wherever feasible. Fortunately, while the current budget did not allow the Village to address increased infrastructure problems (roads and drainage), money from Open Spaces funds was available.What#146;s one good idea you have to better the community that no one is talking about yet?Develop more 'community-oriented' activites such as our Annual Barn Stomp to bring all residents of the Village together.
