To builld a stronger relationship between the citizens and the police/ fire departments.Questions Answers What makes you the best candidate for the job?I have spent the last six years working with the community of St. Ansgar Church in building a bridge between the Anglo and the Hispanic communities bring the two cultures together. I hope to bring those skills and other leadership skill to Hanover Park. This has been my home town for 39 years. I have seen alot of change, some good some bad. The last few years I have seen alot of good and I want to keep it that way.Given the delicate balance between the need for revenue and over-taxing local businesses, what is your opinion of your community's present level of local sales taxes? Is the tax just right, too low or too high? Explain.The food and beverage taxes are too high and need to be seriously looked at as well all tax revenue.Talking with your friends and neighbors, what seems to be their biggest public safety concern? Explain the concern as you see it, and discuss how you think it should be addressed.Continue working on the issues of the past. There is a concern on the houses in forclosier that are vacant. We need to keep citizen awarness up with neighbor watch and area response teams.In these tight economic times, municipal budgets have to be prioritized. Where, if anywhere, could the current budget be trimmed, and conversely, are there areas the budget does not give enough money to?Hanover Park has a lean budget and are not an employee rich community. We are below the reasonable number of police officers and other needs of our residences.What#146;s one good idea you have to better the community that no one is talking about yet?Cultural bridge building.
