I've been pleased to be able to make a small contribution as our library adapts to and makes available the latest innovations to our patrons.Do you have a library card? How long have you had it? How often do you use it?I've been a library patron since moving to Antioch in 1988. It's a rare week that doesn't see me at the libary.Space is usually an issue at libraries. If that's the case at your library, would your solution be to expand the physical plant or make room by doing away with parts of the collection that technology has made less critical? Explain.As a board member I hope to continue to assure that when we need to expand the facility we have the money and credit available. I have always encouraged policies that welcome new technology like digital books, and online access not just to solve space issues, but to make a wide range of digital materials available.What impact have economic and technological changes had on libraries? How does a library remain relevant? How should its role in the community change?I can't speak for other communities, but in Antioch we listen to any and all of our patrons and use their comments to plan our future.
