Is there a particular issue that motivates you, and if so, what is it?I am running for the position of Library Board of Trustees because I feel the library plays a vital role in the educational development of every generation, from young school children to the seniors of the community. The library was always a place I could turn to whether it was for school work, professional or personal development. Reading is very important in the beginning stages of life. The possibilities are endless when you pick up a book and now the opportunities at the library go above and beyond books. If that's the case at your library, would your solution be to expand the physical plant or make room by doing away with parts of the collection that technology has made less critical? Explain.Since the remodeling of the Niles Library space is not an issue. What impact have economic and technological changes had on libraries? How does a library remain relevant? How should its role in the community change? The library is an important role in the community whether it is to have access to books, computers, educational and/or visual media. It does a great job in keeping up with the technology of today's society by offering DVDs and video gaming media to those who otherwise would not have access to them.
