We have struggled with not only getting businesses to come to Gilberts, but also to stay in Gilberts. We are never going to have the tax base of a town like Elgin, but there are still tremendous opportunities to bring more retail into our town.Key Issue 2 Gilbert's infrastructure is going to need a lot of focus in the coming years. Although there have been improvements in some areas that were historically flooded, we need a plan for road maintenance that goes beyond patching.Key Issue 3 Communication with residents. It's not just about what I think is important. It's what the residents think and I plan on asking as many people as I can what issues are important to them and what they think our priorities should be.
