The facility committee has led the way to a greatly expanded computer area, and has monitored other library improvements. As a Friend of the Library I have headed the Young Authors Project for seven years.Do you have a library card? How long have you had it? How often do you use it?I have had a library card since coming to Fox River Grove eighteen years ago.Space is usually an issue at libraries. If that's the case at your library, would your solution be to expand the physical plant or make room by doing away with parts of the collection that technology has made less critical? Explain.A large scale weeding process of library materials has been done to make way for new materials. Inter-libray loan is the mechanism to access a large range of libary materials. E Books, music and other materials are also available to patrons via computer. I would not advocate a physical addition to the building unless a windfall or bequeathment occurred.What impact have economic and technological changes had on libraries? How does a library remain relevant? How should its role in the community change?The most current changes to the library are ones that go beyond my favorite part of the library, books. DVDs and video games have become tremendously popular. The Nook and Kindle are the newest gadgets of choice. The library needs to reflect the needs of a changing community
