Second body found in burned-out tavern

The Cook County Medical Examiner's office says a second body has been recovered from a burned-out tavern in Schiller Park.

The 67-year-old owner of the Horseshoe Inn was found dead there shortly after the fire broke out Jan. 27, and an autopsy later determined that he had died of blunt head trauma — presumably from a homicide.

The fire has since been ruled an arson.

The medical examiner's office told the Chicago Tribune Friday night that authorities could not immediately say whether the second body was that of a man or a woman. An autopsy was scheduled for Tuesday.
