Finding order in a confusing world
Life starts us out in a humble way — you cry. Ironically, when you first laugh, your parents cry, for joy. So commences a Dr. Jeckyl and Mr. Hyde existence. It's a black-and-white world out there. Some take the high road and some take the low road. Yin and yang, opposites attract. Woman are from Venus and men are from Mars, but here on planet Earth, your right brain controls your left and your left brain controls the right. The toilets flush clockwise in the Northern Hemisphere and counterclockwise in the Southern Hemisphere. The villains wear the black hats and the good guys' hats are white. Sometimes you get so confused you just flip a coin and heads you win, tails you lose.
Then life becomes more complex. Rock beats scissors but loses to paper. You become me, myself and I. A traffic light turns yellow and you have to decide to go or stop. Every forth year is a leap year and in the spring you move the clock ahead an hour and in the fall you move it back an hour. I comes before E except after C. Is there a God?
Life can be so confusing. One day we're here and one day we're not. What is love? Are there aliens? Is she really a blonde?
Sometimes the things we think are important like fame and/or money maybe aren't and other things we take for granted like health and friendship maybe should move up the ladder. These are some mighty strange times. Weird weather, economies flip-flopping. Marriage doesn't seem to be defined as it once was. “America! America! God shed his grace on thee, And crown thy good with brotherhood, From sea to shining sea!”
