Warrant issued for court no-show

An arrest warrant was issued Monday for an Antioch man who failed to appear in court on a residential burglary charge.

Lake County Associate Judge George Bridges ordered that Bryan Saltzberg, 29, be held on $75,000 bond if he is found by police.

Assistant State's Attorney Marykay Foy said Saltzberg, of the 1200 block of Main Street, was arrested Oct. 21 by Antioch police.

Foy said Saltzberg stayed at the apartment of a friend while his friend was on vacation from Oct. 8 to Oct. 11 of last year.

On Oct. 19, Foy said, the victim checked his collection of video games and discovered that 18 games were missing.

The victim checked with a video game retailer in Antioch, Foy said, and found that Saltzberg had sold 12 of the games to the retailer a few days earlier.

After his initial arrest, Saltzberg had posted $500 in cash for bond in the case, court records show.

Foy said Saltzberg faces a mandatory prison sentence of between four and 15 years if convicted of residential burglary.
