Armed men tie up Arlington Heights store owners

A husband and wife were tied up inside their Arlington Heights business as armed men robbed the store Saturday night, according to police.

The business owners were able to free themselves shortly after the suspects left their store located at 9 North Wilke Road and called police at 6 p.m. Saturday.

One man was armed with a handgun and a second with a knife when they entered the store along with a third unarmed suspect, said Arlington Heights Police Commander Michael Miljan.

The men took an undisclosed amount of cash from the business and were last seen on foot southbound from the area, Miljan said.

The suspects were all described as Hispanic males wearing baseball hats.

The first suspect was described as approximately 30 years old, 5 feet tall, with brown hair and was wearing a brown jacket and a blue baseball hat.

The second suspect was approximately 5' to 5'3” with dark hair wearing a blue baseball hat and a brown jacket.

The only description of the third suspect was he was wearing a black baseball hat.

Neither victim was injured during the robbery inside the business, which police described as a “general store” which sold sports equipment.
