Brewer’s power dunk wows ’em
Inside the locker room, Bulls guard Ronnie Brewer worried that he might have “overcelebrated” a monster dunk over Indiana’s Josh McRoberts with 3:23 left in the fourth quarter on Saturday.
Brewer’s reaction seemed tame by today’s NBA standards and it was a play worth celebrating. He took a baseline pass and threw it down with two hands while McRoberts delivered a hard foul.
“That was pretty nasty,” teammate Kyle Korver said. “I think the last couple weeks, he’s been getting some of that explosion back. He’s one of the greatest athletes I’ve ever played with. You’re starting to see more of that lately.”
Brewer missed the end of last season with a partially torn hamstring, then suffered another hamstring injury in training camp, so he wasn’t 100 percent when the season began.
“Sometimes I second-guess myself if I can still get up like I used to,” Brewer said. “But it was good to be able to finish at the rim, finish with contact and actually finish a play. I struggled a little bit tonight.”
