Death penalty as revenge? Sure.

In answer to the Fence Post letter dated Jan, 21 by Linda Sobieski of Elburn, you have hit the nail square on the head.

How many people does one have to kill to deserve the death penalty? Thirty-three young men like John Wayne Gacy murdered or seven people murdered in the Brown’s Chicken massacre? A bunch like the recent shootings in Arizona including a 9-year-old. How many children does one have to rape and kill?

If memory serves, didn’t the voters of Illinois settle the question of the death penalty before by an overwhelming majority that said yes to the death penalty?

They say life in prison is worse than death. Baloney. These killers have everything except the right to walk around outside. It is said that putting someone to death is not justice but only revenge. Life in prison is the only way. Baloney again. There is always a bleeding heart that would want to parole these killers.

I have seen with my own eyes the victims of murderers. I have seen the relatives of those loved ones that were victims of murder. It is said that execution is not justice but revenge. OK, if one of my loved ones were murdered I want my revenge then.
