Erin Quinn scored 12 points and Sarah McHugh added 11, as Carmel Catholic’s girls basketball team edged visiting Providence Catholic 38-34 in East Suburban Catholic Conference action Thursday night.

Carmel (14-9, 5-3) won for the fifth time in six games.

Zion-Benton 79, Lake Forest 34: Samantha Rodriguez had 15 points, 8 rebounds and 3 steals for the Zee-Bees in the North Suburban Lake Division.

Zion-Benton (17-5, 7-3) also received 12 points from Octavia Crump and 11 apiece from Juanita Robinson (6 assists, 3 steals) and Aaliyah Smith (career high, 8 rebounds, 3 blocked shots).
