Thanks, legislators, for your ‘integrity’

I would like to thank Pat Quinn, Michael Madigan and John Cullerton for their great work in passing a massive tax hike in the middle of the night to save our state from economic collapse. I cannot pay enough to help those hardworking union members get benefits I do not get from my job. I also want to help you and the other legislators out of this mess so you are not burdened with the difficult decisions a responsible adult would ordinarily be forced to make. After all, being a legislator for decades doesn’t mean you are in any way responsible for these problems, so why should you be bothered with them?

I also know your integrity will ensure that this rate increase is only temporary, even though the last time a temporary increase was promised it became permanent. I do not mind, however, since who would know better how to spend my money than a bunch of lawyers with no understanding of basic economics? I can’t make do without this money, but, what the heck, does my family need to eat every day? Besides you do such great works with our taxes. The kids in our school system are geniuses, all our poverty and crime issues have been solved and our three-lane highways with those tolls that were supposed to be eliminated when the bonds were paid off are so efficient and plentiful.

If you were in the private sector your awe-inspiring results would result in losing your jobs. Thank God we have a large parasitic portion of the population that you can buy votes from — otherwise many of you would have to resort to your true calling, ambulance chasing.
