Support Read-aloud Storybook Drive today

Children's Home + Aid Community Child Care Center of Palatine Township, a nonprofit daycare facility, is in need of read-aloud storybooks, educational games, puzzles and art supplies for a growing number of low-income children enrolled in its pre-kindergarten program.

A special effort to solicit public donations of needed supplies is being launched by Children's Home + Aid, Palatine Township Supervisor, Linda Fleming, and the cast of "Disney On Ice presents Disney-Pixar's Toy Story 3."

Children's Home + Aid Community Child Care Center Read-aloud Storybook Drive will run through Wednesday, Jan. 26, with donations being accepted at the Palatine Township building, 721 S. Quentin Road, Palatine.

Donations should be of new books (or educational games) appropriate for children ages 2½ to 5. For additional information, call Children's Home + Aid Development Coordinator at (312) 424-6811.

“We are grateful for the community's ongoing support of our mission to provide high-quality early childhood education to low-income children from all over the township of Palatine,” said Nancy Ronquillo, CEO of Children's Home + Aid. “As our friends from Disney On Ice presents Toy Story 3 agree, reading to children helps foster a love for reading, which, in turn, provides kids with a strong foundation for educational success.”.

Disney On Ice's newest skating spectacular, "Disney On Ice presents Disney-Pixar's Toy Story 3," will be appearing Jan. 26-30 at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, and Feb. 2-13 at Chicago's United Center. For additional information, log on to www.disneyonice.com.
