Quigley shoots DePaul past Cincinnati

CINCINNATI — Sam Quigley set a career high with seven 3-pointers and tied her season high with 23 points as No. 12 DePaul rolled to a 67-48 Big East win Tuesday night at Cincinnati.

Taylor Pikes added 11 points for the Blue Demons (20-2, 7-0), who will take a seven-game winning streak into their home game against eighth-ranked West Virginia on Sunday.

The Blue Demons have won 17 of their last 18 games and are off to their best start in conference history. They were 6-0 in Conference USA in 1995-96 and 2003-04.

Shareese Ulis scored 18 points — 16 in the second half — to lead the outmanned Bearcats (8-11, 1-6), who dressed just seven players because of injuries. Cincinnati has lost five straight and six of its last seven.

Quigley tied her previous single-game career high with five 3-pointers in the first half, including a halfcourt heave at the buzzer that gave the Blue Demons a 35-17 lead.

The last DePaul player to hit seven 3-pointers in a game was Missy Mitidiero against Rutgers on Feb. 27, 2008.

DePaul never trailed and led by as many as 29 in the second half. The Blue Demons scored 18 points off of 19 Bearcat turnovers.
