Don’t spend what you don’t have

It is my opinion that all Americans have got to stop spending what they do not have. That is what our present government has done. The use of credit cards has gotten uncontrollable, with many accruing balances they may not ever be able to pay off.

It is easy to go overboard when one does not have to be immediately responsible for a purchase and many have no idea how they will pay off the debt they are accumulating. I would encourage Americans to make a resolution to buy only what they have the cash to pay for, to curtail any selfish desire for things they cannot afford.

And students to take their education seriously ... it is the time and place to learn skills that do not only benefit their future but add to the knowledge and ideas that will once again place America at the top of the world with innovative prosperity.

China is now far ahead of us scholastically and with inventive ideas. High school and college are not for “good times” with our peers and experimentation with alcohol and drugs. We have many who really apply themselves and many who do not. We must keep America strong and at the head of the class.
