State of city address set for Monday, Jan. 24
Mayor A. George Pradel will highlight the events of 2010 and share the opportunities and challenges facing the City of Naperville in 2011 during his 16th annual State of the City address, taking place at 7:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 24 at Tellabs, 1415 W. Diehl Road.
Traditionally, the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce has hosted the annual State of the City address during its January General Membership Luncheon at the Holiday Inn Select.
Due to the closure of the Holiday Inn and subsequent renovation to a Marriott Hotel, the chamber had to make alternate arrangements for the 2011 event.
Tellabs graciously offered to host the State of the City as a breakfast meeting at its corporate headquarters, keeping this important Naperville tradition within its borders.
“Our city was built on a strong foundation of values, and this speech will remind us that by working together as a community we are overcoming the economic challenges we face,” Mayor A. George Pradel said. “This speech is a lesson on how the city gets its income through taxes and how it is dispensed through various budgets and a chance to look forward to a brighter future. We want to show that Naperville is the best investment for your family's future and the best bang for your dollar!”
Limited seating is still available, and registration for this event is required. Reservations should be made by 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 21 by visiting www.naperville.net or by calling (630) 355-4141.
