Des Plaines History Center holds dinner at the Choo Choo

“Time to Dine at the Choo Choo!” is the next Historic Adventure sponsored by the Des Plaines History Center. During this Monday, Jan. 31, outing, participants will share a meal at the Choo Choo Restaurant in downtown Des Plaines.

The public is invited to attend by gathering at 4 p.m. at the Choo Choo, 600 N. Lee St., to hear a history of the restaurant and have the opportunity to share their favorite Choo Choo memories. The restaurant will be closed to the general public during this event, which concludes at 6 p.m.

This is the ninth Historic Adventure sponsored by the Des Plaines History Center. Volunteers Janet C. Thompson and William G. Grice III coordinate day-trips, outings, and occasional “in-house” programs of local or historic interest for the community and History Center members.

Registration is required: $3 for adults, children 12 and under are free. Attendees are responsible for paying for their own meal. Space is limited. Call (847) 391-5399 or stop by the History Center, 781 Pearson St.
