Naperville staffer elected to a council governing board

Only Six Currently Hold this Distinction

The City of Naperville is pleased to announce Chief Procurement Officer Michael Bevis was recently elected to the Universal Public Procurement Certification Council's Governing Board. Bevis was elected to the position by the Board of Directors of the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing in December 2010.

The UPPCC establishes policy and procedures in addition to providing overall governance of the Certified Public Procurement Officer and the Certified Professional Public Buyer certification programs.

Since its inception, the UPPCC certifications have represented the global standard for professional certification with 1,954 CPPOs and 8,482 CPPBs certified throughout North America, Australia and Europe.

The governing board consists of six voting members, three elected from the NIGP and three appointed from the National Association of State Procurement Officials. Board members serve three-year terms and can serve up to three consecutive terms.
