Downtown architectural survey now available for review

The City of Naperville's Downtown Architectural Survey is now available for public review on the city's website at www.naperville.il.us/napervilledowntown2030.aspx. The survey, which was initiated through the Naperville Downtown2030 planning process, includes 53 buildings that were selected based on their potential historic significance and architectural integrity.

Interested residents and property/business owners are invited to attend a public meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 26 to learn more about the project, purpose and methodology.

The meeting will begin with a presentation at 4 p.m. in Meeting Rooms B and C of the Naperville Municipal Center, 400 S. Eagle St.

The Downtown Advisory Commission recognized that the architecture of the existing buildings in the downtown commercial areas significantly contribute to the charm and character of downtown Naperville. The survey includes information on the physical characteristics of the selected buildings to help property and business owners to better understand the unique features of their buildings.

Property/business owners, residents and all other interested parties are invited to review the survey forms and share their comments during the public meeting on Jan. 26. Written comments will also be accepted through Monday, Jan. 31.

Comments may be submitted via e-mail to liuy@naperville.il.us or by standard mail to: Ying Liu, Community Planner, City of Naperville, TED Business Group, 400 S. Eagle St., Naperville, IL 60540.
