Hanover Park family objects to tickets

My name is Timothy Marcus. I am 31 years old, and I grew up in Hanover Park. About 10 years ago I moved to South Carolina. While in the South I met my wonderful wife, and we decided to get married in my hometown. After the wedding the decision was made to move home to be near the family.

I have found that much has changed since I last lived here. Due to job loss, hospital expenses and the current state of economy the family is surely in need of a miracle.

I have only been home four months now, and I have been noticing a disturbing trend involving parking tickets.

My mother, father, sister, her spouse and myself are all working, and all on evening or overnight shifts. It seems the tickets are always issued around 8:30 a.m. for being over the sidewalk.

I understand the law, and the importance for the law, but my entire family has been ticketed so frequently it seems almost harassing.

No one in my house is a lazy individual. We all do our best to get up early to move the cars. We are all living together because of the need to survive.

I am a pizza maker/ delivery driver, and my wage is a daily tip average. Having a 10-hour shift completed, 3 a.m. I went to bed. At 8 a.m. I leapt out of bed because I missed my “move the car” alarm, ran outside to move the family autos, only to find we had been cited.

I must say again I understand the law, and I respect it. My family has earnestly tried to rotate automobiles to comply with city standards, but in the last quarter year I can approximate that my suffering family has been cited in the hundreds of dollars.

I wish there was a parking pass or some other way to resolve this issue.

The cost to live in the Chicago area is quite high, and to have added expenses like parking tickets may just impact this family from paying for our essential needs to survive.
