Snow causing headaches at O'Hare
Hundreds of flights were canceled at O'Hare International Airport as a winter storm made its way through the area Monday.
Suburbs to the north and west of the city were hit hardest by the storm, with accumulations between 2 and 4 inches reported as of late Monday, according to the National Weather Service.
More than 400 flights in and out of O'Hare International Airport had been canceled by as of 8:30 p.m., with delays averaging 90 minutes. No flights were canceled out of Midway International Airport, but travelers faced average delays of 40 minutes.
The winter weather advisory is set to expire at 6 a.m. Tuesday.
Snow is expected to turn to freezing rain as temperatures fluctuate around 32 degrees overnight.
The weather service is warning drivers to be cautious as accumulation of ice on roadways is possible.
