Lake County Folk Club stages concert
The Lake County Folk Club's 2010-11 Concert Stage presents the Midwestern touring duo of musicians Friedlander and Hall Sunday, Jan. 16.
The show begins at 7 p.m. at El Barrio Restaurant & Lounge, 1122 Diamond Lake Road, Mundelein.
Southwestern food entrees and a full assortment of refreshments will be served during the Lake County Folk Club's concert event.
Jeff Friedlander and Ed Hall have been fixtures in the Chicago area and the Midwest's folk and acoustic music scenes.
Friedlander and Hall have been playing music together for 37 years after meeting as college students who were in the same camping class and signed up to play at a campfire program.
Since those early years, Friedlander and Hall have released five albums, supported by Friedlander's vocals and Hall's backing vocals and fingerstyle guitar playing and banjo work.
Their albums are “Utah Moon,” “Chicago Style,” “Strings Attached,” “The Treble Clef Album” and, the most recent, “Factory Town.” All song selections on the five albums cover a variety of musical styles.
Joining Friedlander and Hall Jan. 16 will be their longtime bassist Doug Lofstrom.
Lake County Folk Club member Dee Lee will open for Friedlander and Hall at 7 p.m.
Admission at the concert event is $12 for adults and $10 for Lake County Folk Club members, students and seniors.
