Two men break down front door in Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police are looking for two men who kicked open the front door of a home Wednesday night before being confronted by a resident.

Police said the residents called 911 just after 7 p.m. Wednesday to report the attempted burglary on the 1100 block of East Fairview Street.

The residents were in the basement when they thought they heard someone knocking at the front door. A teenage boy went up to check the door and found it bashed in with two men standing inside, police said.

The men took off northeast on foot when they saw the teen, according to police.

Officers canvassed the area and spoke with neighbors, but no one had seen the intruders.

A description of the men was not available. No one was injured, and nothing was taken from the house.
