The skinny: Maybe the Ramblers need to get away from the Gentile Center, where they've lost five of their last six games, to regain their early footing. It's Loyola's first game against Green Bay since Hinsdale Central all-stater Brian Wardle took over the program. His former boss, Tod Kowalczyk, took three players with him to Toledo in the off-season, so the Phoenix is a bit short. Seven-foot-1 freshman Alec Brown (8.9 ppg, 37 blocks) gives Green Bay a different look from other Horizon League teams, but senior guards Rahmon Fletcher (16.2 ppg) and Bryquis Perine (11.3 ppg) are the heart of the team. It looks like junior swingman Jordan Hicks (11.7 ppg, 4.7 rpg), who broke his foot in Game 9 on Dec. 4, will sit out the rest of the year and hope for a redshirt.
