Wolves fail to hold lead

The Chicago Wolves held three leads Sunday, but the Toronto Marlies fought back each time and were eventually victorious in a shootout, 4-3, at the Allstate Arena.

Forwards Ryan Garbutt and Andrew Kozek both had a goal and an assist, while Darren Haydar had a pair of assists for the Wolves.

Kozek and right wing Akim Aliu scored for the Wolves in the shootout, while goaltender Drew MacIntyre stopped 1 of 4 Marlies attempts.

“We've been flat in back-to-back games and it's disappointing,” said Wolves coach Don Lever. “To give up that many shots in our own building is unacceptable.”

Kozek put the Wolves up 3-2 early in the third period, but the Marlies tied it with 4:48 remaining in the third period when left wing Jay Rosehill scooped up a rebound along the left post and roofed it past MacIntyre to force overtime.
