Aurora man charged with home invasion

An Aurora man was charged with home invasion Sunday after he broke into the home of an ex-girlfriend, police said.

Gregory Williamson, 26, of the 900 block of Jackson Street in Aurora, was arrested and charged with domestic battery, home invasion and harassment by telephone when police found him just before 7 a.m. Sunday leaving his ex-girlfriend's home on the 300 block of Butterfield Road in North Aurora, police reports said.

The North Aurora Police Department is holding Williamson until his bond hearing on Monday at the Aurora Branch Court, 1200 E. Indian Trail in Aurora.

Williamson called his ex-girlfriend and threatened her about an hour before arriving at her house, according to police reports. He forcibly entered the home and battered the woman, police said.

The woman had minor injuries but refused medical attention.

Williamson also sustained minor injuries and was treated by North Aurora Fire Department paramedics on scene. He refused transport to a hospital.

Williamson was detained by officers without incident, reports said.
