2 charged with selling drugs near Antioch High
Two Antioch residents were arrested after they were seen selling drugs near Antioch High School, authorities said Friday.
Nickoleynn L., Lange, 19, and Quentin L. Campbell, 22, both living in the 25000 block of Highwoods Drive, were charged with unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver within 1,000 feet of school property following their Dec. 30 arrest, Antioch Police Chief Craig Somerville said.
An Antioch police officer on patrol saw a suspicious 2009 Ford Focus parked near the high school at Main Street and Route 173, Somerville said. The officer made a traffic stop, and found several individually packaged bags of cannabis and a digital scale inside the vehicle, he added.
Lange and Campbell were arrested and the vehicle they were using was seized by police under Illinois Drug Asset Seizure and Forfeiture Laws, police said.
A conviction for unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver within 1,000 feet of school property is punishable by up to five years in prison, officials said.
Campbell, who was on probation for robbery at the time of the arrest, remains in Lake County jail on $25,000 bond. Lange's bond was set at $5,000, and it's unclear if she was able to bond out of jail.
