Lombard Service League to hold membership meeting

Community members are invited to attend the Lombard Service League monthly membership meeting Jan. 13.

The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at Lexington Square in Lombard, 555 Foxworth Blvd. “Cooking Smart” will be the featured topic of discussion at the Lombard Service League's January membership meeting.

Looking for easy ways to stay healthy? Simple changes in the way you purchase and prepare foods can have an impact on your health. Whether you are cooking for one, two or an entire family, learn the simple and quick tips to help you meet daily nutritional guidelines and prepare meals in 30 minutes or less. This and more will be presented at the Service League meeting, to be held on January 13 at 7 p.m. at Lexington Square, Lombard.

The program will be presented by Joy Rosenberg from the American Cancer Society. She will share with some easy ways to stay healthy by cooking smarter. Find out how to prepare nutritional meals in 30 minutes or less!! Quicker than ordering out fast food!

Rosenberg is the Health Initiatives Manager for the American Cancer Society in DuPage County. As a part of that responsibility, Rosenberg assists corporate and community groups with wellness planning, utilizing the evidence-based programs and services available though the Society, all offered at no cost. Prior to joining the American Cancer Society five years ago, Rosenberg primarily worked in human resources, with an emphasis on training and development. Rosenberg holds a Master's Degree of Leadership from North Central College, and is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources.
