Male, female identity is God-given
This is in regard to Louis Guagent's letter (Fence Post, Dec. 11). Please, before you talk about God's stand on gays, refer to His word on it — not religious reasoning. God did not create someone gay. When He created man He created Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve. That's in Genesis if you want to look it up.
A person is not born that way — he or she chooses that way of life. That's why there are former gays and lesbians, because they have come out of that lifestyle. Listen to their testimonies sometime.
Their God-given identity is to be male or female. God has given us all free will — but He has also given us His word to keep us straight and on the narrow path. His word says we all have sinned and fallen short of His glory (meaning falling short of what He intended us to be). He also provided an escape from the punishment to come by sending His Son, Jesus Christ, to pay for those sins.
God hates the sin of homosexuality but still wants to save the homosexual just like everyone else — but it has to be His way or no way. It's all there for us to find in His word.
