Lombard firefighter retires after 31 years of service

“The department will not be the same without him. He will be missed,” said Lombard Fire Chief Mike Torrence. Torrence is referring to Firefighter Pete Davis who will retire from the Lombard Fire Department on Jan. 5.

Davis will retire with more than 31 years of service with the Lombard Fire Department. A retirement reception will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5 at Fire Station One in his honor.

During his tenure with the Lombard Fire Department, Davis headed up the department's air pack program, provided significant input and assistance to the Fire Chief in establishing the Emergency Communications Center (Emergency Preparedness Division) and was a member of Lombard's Fire Investigation Unit.
