Illinois Republicans plan Reagan-themed fundraiser

The Illinois Republican Party plans to honor the 100th birthday of President Ronald Reagan with a fundraiser at a Chicago hotel.

The Chicago Tribune reports that the event will be held Feb. 5 — one day before Reagan's actual birthday.

Fundraiser tickets will range from $100 to $20,000.

So far, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, former U.N. Ambassador John Bolton and Republican Indiana Congressman Mike Pence have confirmed their appearance.

Gingrich also plans to appear at an event on Feb. 4 near Reagan's birthplace in Tampico.

GOP officials said they've also invited a number of potential presidential candidates, including former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour, former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, and former Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania.
