Children's orthopaedic clinic offered Jan. 19
As children grow, a parent or guardian must be mindful of healthy bone development to assure a strong body in adulthood. When an orthopaedic problem arises, if not treated correctly, a broken bone, sports injury, developmental or genetic condition can present challenges for children, especially when dealing with their growth plates.
The Illlinois Bone and Joint Institute, 350 S. Greenleaf Ave., Suite 405 in Gurnee, hosts a quarterly clinic at no charge, which deals directly with these health issues for children.
Their upcoming Lake County Children's Orthopaedic Clinic is scheduled for 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19.
The popular clinic will be complete with crowd favorites, the clinic's own Dr. Robert Dugan and Tank, the therapy dog. Previously, Tank has been an absolute hit with the children and adored by everyone, regardless of age or severity of health challenge.
The complimentary clinic is scheduled every three months and accepts patients regardless of economic status. The clinic does not require health insurance to be a prerequisite for treatment, and Dr. Dugan gladly sees any child for any orthopedic issue. If health insurance or Medicaid covers the family, patients are asked to provide the appropriate coverage information.
