Still keeping eye on forest preserve

Thank you to the voters, volunteers, supporters, financial contributors, fellow candidates and organizations who made my campaign for DuPage County Forest Preserve Commissioner such a great experience. I was honored to run and feel humbled by the overwhelming support provided by people of all political persuasions throughout District 2.

Although we did not win the election, we learned so much about how our DuPage Forest Preserve District could improve. I hope you will all stay engaged, ask questions and make sure your current public servants know what you expect of them.

I will continue to work as a citizen for the repeal of the commissioners' 3 percent annual raise and for the reform of the current professional services proposal process that allows for no-bid contracts. An ethics committee needs to be established and the real cost of the fleet services building under review must be disclosed.

We will be watching redistricting and legislation pending to maintain the current forest preserve districts, as well as the fate of forest preserve golf courses. We can all be citizen advocates for our community and I intend to continue that work. Please keep in touch.
