Bones found could belong to missing Georgia woman
BLAIRSVILLE, Ga. — Authorities in north Georgia are looking into whether bones found over the weekend could belong to a Blairsville woman who's been missing since 2009.
Georgia Bureau of Investigation spokesman John Bankhead says the bones were found about nine miles from where Kristi Cornwell disappeared. Authorities say the bones have been sent to a crime lab and will be analyzed Monday.
The bones haven't been connected to Cornwell but Bankhead said right now, she is the only person missing in Union County.
Authorities say Cornwell was abducted while talking to her boyfriend on her cell phone on Aug. 11, 2009.
