2 bodies found in a ditch in Milwaukee suburb

MEQUON, Wis. — Police in a north shore Milwaukee suburb are investigating the deaths of two people whose bodies were found in a ditch early Monday.

Authorities say the two were walking in a residential area in Mequon when they were struck and killed by a driver who fled the scene.

WISN-TV reports the victims are a 72-year-old Brown Deer man and his 69-year-old wife. A neighbor reported the two missing after they failed to return from a walk Sunday night. Officers found the bodies about 1 a.m. Monday. Authorities are looking for the driver of a black GMC sport utility vehicle with damage to the front headlight area.
