Gurnee library sets reading program
Warren-Newport Public Library in Gurnee is trying to get everyone to curl up with a good book in the winter. As part of the effort, younger children and teenagers are invited to join the Chicago Wolves Read to Succeed program from Jan. 15 through Feb. 26.
Reading 600 minutes earns a free book, a treasure chest prize, and a chance at bigger prizes such as Wolves hats, jerseys and game tickets. Adults are urged to read and review six books in Hot Reads for Cold Nights.
In addition to weekly drawings, the grand-prize winner will receive a Nook e-reader. Sign up is at the library on O'Plaine Road just north of Washington Street.
