Costs, taxes are out of control
When I was in grade school, there were hardly any taxes, and in history we were told Russia was exceedingly high in taxes. People were taxed to death.
Well, things have reversed themselves. When I was 63, my Social Security was so low I kept working until I was 70. Now everything is taxed; even a lousy hamburger and cup of coffee costs 25 cents tax. Millions of cars are out on the street and look at the tax on each gallon of gas. Huge crowds at sports events are taxed, even on toilet paper.
Health costs are way up. For insurance, I'm paying $450 every other month. My prescription insurance went up. Association fees on my condo apartment, too.
There's so much money going to the state that they're going crazy on how to spend it. So it's used for salaries, pensions, etc. Yet it's why we're in debt. Keep the prisons open. We need them for our elected officials.
