Senseless vandalism at fish hatchery station
I often wonder what goes through the minds of vandals when they commit nonsensical acts.
In New Hampshire, vandals who recently turned off the power to a pump station at the Milford Fish Hatchery caused the death of at least 15,000 rainbow trout, according to the state Fish and Game Department.
“It could have been more,” said conservation officer Todd Szewczyk, noting the facility contained 425,000 rainbows and 300,000 brook and brown trout.
That, my friends, is a terrible waste of the resources.

Fishing update
How's fishing? Great if you ask those who get out on the ice.
Fox Chain: Bluegills, and lots of them, being taken from Channel Lake, north and south ends. Lake Catherine has given up some pike and crappie, while Petite is doing nicely on crappie and white bass.
Fox River: A good choice is to work the channels (Nielsen's Channels) at Port Barrington for bluegills and walleyes. Parking at Herman's.
Lake Michigan: Navy Pier yellow perch cooperating if one is able to get through the ice and drop some minnows down to the lingering schools.
