Empower people to care for themselves
These past two years, more than ever before, have shown the great divide between conservatives and liberals. These years have also shown all people the difference between the Republican and Democratic platforms and philosophies. Republicans want to encourage all of us to learn to fish and catch and keep as many fish as possible, while Democrats want to make us dependent on them to give us fish, but only the number of fish they deem we deserve.
If Democrats had their way they would make every one of us — not themselves mind you because they are the academic elitists who know more than us and deserve different treatment — dependent on them so we would continue to put Democrats in office in order to keep getting handouts. It doesn't matter how meager those handouts truly are.
I've implored my fellow Americans to wake up, and I'm doing it again. Please read and get a good understanding of what the two parties represent. Democrats want you to be dependent on a union or their party for your well-being whereas the Republicans want you to use your drive and obtain the skills you need to be successful on your own.
Doesn't everyone truly want to be independent and able to survive and grow on their own? While I agree there needs to be a safety net for those who fall on hard times — and we all have at some point — that net should not cover the whole ocean! People who hit hard times are far better off leaning on family and friends and striving to keep their dignity instead of going to an organization or party that only cares that they are part of the group and dependent for life.
